A UWM researcher uses algorithms to digitally craft new and sometimes impossible instruments and make sounds that have never been heard before. I enjoyed the challenge of creating a image to accompany an article about sound and mathematics – two classically difficult concepts to communicate visually. Using an example of an instrument mentioned in the article, I warped the image of a Tibetan singing bowl and applied glitch art styling.
