The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee hosts a long-running lecture series for youth, featuring kid-friendly aspects of UWM faculty’s real-life scientific work. These researchers who are usually doing very serious work are now switching gears to provide “edutainment” to kids. It’s been my challenge to help them create a compelling image to set the tone for their lecture.

Sometimes a researcher will show up to the photo studio with a vision and props. Oftentimes, they just show up and we take it from there. Being able to understand their lecture’s topic on the fly and to work together to come up with a fun and feasible image is always a challenge and a blast. After the studio photo session is complete, it’s up to me to make the PhotoShop magic happen!
